PRURIENT INTERVIEW/NOISE LABEL REVIEWS

I'm not sure how I got in touch with Dom from Prurient/Hospital Productions. What I mean is I'm not sure if I contacted him first or he got ahold of me? I just remember getting this awesome package from him in the mail filled with all kinds of great looking and sounding tapes and cdr's(see above for reviews). I was totally impressed with Dom's work as Prurient and the work he was doing with Hospital Prod that I knew right away I wanted to do an interview. I'm willing to bet this is among the first Dom did!? Prurient and Hospital is still going strong I'm happy to report. Can't really say the same for the rest of the labels/bands in the little "noise label soptlight" I did.

IMPETIGO/SADISTIK EXEKUTION INTERVIEWS MF 3

The interview Stevo(Impetigo) is from 1998. I found Stevo's email address online somewhere and dropped him a line. I think I actually got in touch with Stevo in 1997 but I believe he moved that same year and we lost touch for about a year. This interview was suppose to go into the second issue of my old zine Children Of Caine.

The SAD X interview was from 1993. This was one of the first interviews I sent out when I decided I was going to do a zine back then. This was suppose to go into C.O.C. 1. I have no idea why I didn't print it back then? I remember ordering the Magnus on LP from Relapse that year and I was blown away. For sure one of my all time fave's. I was psyched when I got this interview back cos the SAD X guy's actually sent me some live pix from one of their shows. Not copies but real full color pix. I used em' as backgrounds for interview. I also got a big gig flyer for a Halloween show they played around the same time and a offical promo cassette with a couple tracks from The Magnus LP. I was told it was limited and pretty rare.

CONTROL AND NACHO CERDA INTERVIEWS MF 3

The interview with Thomas(Control) was done via email shortly after Control played live in NYC in 2000. I've gotten some great Jamie Gillis home videos from Thomas over the years!

In the summer of 1998 I went to Montreal(Canada) for the Fant-Asia film fest. I was already at that time a huge fan of Aftermath. Well, as soon as I found out Aftermath's director NahcoCerda was going to being screening his new film Genesis I made the arrangements to go. I'm so happy I did cos Fant-Asia turned out to be the North American debute for Genesis. While attending the screening I got a press kit from Nacho with background info on himself and his films. Lucky for me it contained his address, phone number, and email. I shot Nacho an email and asked for an interview and he enthusiastically agreed. The funny thing was that Nacho really didn't feel like writing out his answers so he sent me an audio recording of him answering my questions plus tons of full color pix from the set of Geneis. Fucken cool or what? This was another C.O.C. #2 interview that I sat on for awhile. Also worth noting is that last year the DVD company Unearthed put of the special ed. of Aftermath(with Genesis) and included as an extra the audio version of my interview Nacho. Plus all the exclusive Genesis set pix. Truly one of the coolest things I've been a part of. I still can't believe it.

MF 3 COVER /INSIDE COVER/BACK INSIDE/BACK COVER

MF 3 INTERVIEWS

By far my favorite issue of the 5 MF I've put out is MF #3 from August of 2001. MF 3 envisions all that I hoped MF would be and still is. The perfect balance of extreme underground metal, power electronics/noise, and sleazy/cult/horror/porn flicks. I look at the layout and I just love it. Even did a color cover. It's actually taken straight from a color still I won on ebay from the film Dead And Buried. This marked the first issue I started re-printing old ad's/photo's/pix from the early to mid 90's death/black metal scene. All the retro 80's metal re-birth shit was getting to me. It was a build up. I grew up during the late 70's and 80's and believe me it was a great time. But leave it alone for awhile. Christ! Hence the idea to pay tribute to the early death/black/grind bands from the 90's. Finnish death metal, Swedish death metal, Florida death metal, 3rd generation black metal from Scandinavia etc. That's what I'm talkin about.

Enjoy MF 3!

MF 3 COMMING, MF 6 NEWS, PLAYLISTS, RANDOM CRAP

MF 3 will be up in a day or two. I've scanned off 3 interviews so far. I'll be working on interview questions for Profanatica, Trap Them, Transcentdent Device, and Ataraxie for MF 6 over the next couple of weeks. I just created a Myspace page for my old comp tapes series I use to do back in the early to mid 90's called Diabolical Nethereworld. You can check it out here DNCOMPS MYSPACE
Last week was a pretty stressful and eventful week for me. Car problems, PC troubles, and long nights at work. The icing on the cake was the passing of my grandfather on thurs. Pretty upsetting but at least his suffering is over. RIP Grandamps!
Anyway, spring is close and with it summer just around the corner. That means it's again time for the Maryland Death Fest. Be my third time in row. I'm looking forward to seeing...
Brutal Truth, Vomitory, Dead Infection, General Surgery, Regurgitate, Gut, Cripple Bastard, Retaliation, Rotten Sound, Birdflesh, Cock and Ball Torture, Nunwhore Commando 666, Looking for an Answer, Exhale, Flagitious Idiosyncrasy in the Dilapidation. I'm gonna post MDF pix from past shows in a month or so that my buddy Devon has taken over the last 3 years. I'll also be attending Central Illinois Metalfest '07 in july. I can't pass up seeing the re-united Impetigo aong with Mortician and Cianide. Been 15 years since I last saw Impetigo. That was in RI at Club Baby Head. What a show! Incantation, Headrot, Embalmer, Deceased, Vital Remains, Phelgm etc also played.
CMI 07
Besides the cool metal fests comming up soon, baseball season is almost upoun us. Let's Go Mets! I'm psyched for another exciting year. I'm predicting a dog fight between NY, Philly, and the Braves.
